Making of 99 Flights

99Flights.co.uk a division of Carlton Leisure UK Ltd was developed just for offering the cheapest fare to worldwide destination. As per the company policy, we can't compromise with the quality while offering prices, so you would find everything of great quality but cheaper prices. All the fares are ATOL and IATA protected which means you don't have to worry about your travel needs.
While developing 99 Flights our main concern was to offer the cheapest price without compromising with the quality. It was a tedious task but not impossible. We concentrate on our main goal and started developing the website. There were few ups and downs while developing it but at last we got success.
There were restrictions from the Airlines and travel consolidators but we succeed. Few airlines were against developing the portal because the prices shown on the website were cheaper than their prices, which was not a good thing for their brand. After facing so much of problems from Airlines and big giants of travel industry, at last we manage to develop the portal. There are many things which are new to the travel website and are incorporated in the website. For example, the fares on every destination page are recently searched fare which gives user an idea of the fares to that particular destination. Apart from this the website download time is exceptionally good. A person can search flights to its favourite destination and can book it online in just 2 minutes. The results are fast than most of the website over the web.
With the aim of cheaper fares our other concern was to develop the website in such a way that looks different from other thousands of website over the web. There are many travel portals available over the internet which gives you guarantee that they offer cheapest fares, but when you search other portal then you come to know that the fare is not the cheapest. Here at 99 Flights we do not give such guarantee. We think let the people decide, what is best for them, because at the end of the day it’s the passenger who makes a product good or bad.
There are many enhancements to be done on the website. I will keep you updated on this Blog. So keep browsing and enjoy traveling with 99 Flights.

European Online Travel Overview

Latest research conducted by PhoCusWright’s European Online Travel Overview reveals that around 67% of total european travel market would be contributed by three countries viz. UK, Germany and France. The total market share of UK continues to decrease from 31% to 26%. This decrease is mainly the result of Pound's devaluation and market trends.

France’s share is expected to remain flat at 19%. Germany, in contrast, is expected to increase its portion of the online market from 17% in 2008 to 20% in 2011. In 2008, Scandinavia surpassed U.K. in online penetration at 45% versus 40%. Now Scandinavia is leading Europe in online penetration and is expected to cross the halfway point by 2010, whereas the U.K. will likely take somewhat longer.

United Airlines, Continental Airlines & All Nippon Airways Tie Up

Three airlines viz. United Airlines, Continental Airlines and All Nippon Airways are soon going to sign a three way tie-up, which will enable them to co-ordinate schedule and fares between North America and Japan. Recently, while talking to the media, all members of Star Alliance said that all necessary arrangements are done and work is going on schedule and fares. The move comes as Japan government has said that it will not guarantee funding for debt-ridden national carrier Japan Airlines (JAL). Japan Airlines (JAL) is currently being courted by its oneworld partner American Airlines, as well as Delta Airlines, a SkyTeam member, to seek a similar tie-up. This joint venture will significantly enhance the abilities to serve customers better. The network of service to nine Japanese cities will be enhanced by giving customers more options for using flights in conjunction with United and ANA for trips both within the region as well as on trans-Pacific routes

How to Make a Travel Website? How an Online Travel Based Search Engine Works?

There are many times when we see online travel websites like www.TravelsOr.co.uk, www.99flights.co.uk, www.Expedia.co.uk, etc. and ask ourselves how these travel based company making money? How to make an online travel website? How do an online travel search engine works? The reason why we want to know the answer to this question is to know whether or not we can make a travel based portal and start making money like other online travel companies. There are many online portals offering Flights, Hotels, Holidays, etc. and making huge amount of money. Can we become a travel agent and make huge money? How these travel agents are making money? In 2009 Expedia’s first quarter profit was $635.7 Million. How these portals making money with just an online travel search engine? Is it easy to make a travel based website? You can too have a travel based website by becoming an affiliate of any travel portal. There are two ways of making a travel based website.
First: By becoming an affiliate of a travel website.Second: Making your own travel website and get keep the whole profit with you. That means you don’t have to share the profit with anyone.
Many travel websites provide an online travel engine for free. You can use it as your own and get commission up to 10%. This is the first method.Second method is little difficult. You have to invest lot of money for making huge amount of money. If you have money or you are an existing travel agent and want to make your own travel based website, then second option is better for you.The first thing you have to do is to buy the domain and the hosting. This is the initial step and you have to do that in either you want to become an affiliate or you want to have your own website. After that design your website and make it live. I know the website would be without search engine and you can’t make online searches for flights, hotels or holidays. To make a website you need one Global Distribution System (GDS) from where you can get the latest fares. There are many GDS available in the market, like Amadeus, Worldspan, Sabre, Galileo, etc. Once you have an agreement to use any of the GDS, then you can start making your travel based search engine. After this you have to decide the technology on which you would like to make your travel based search engine. It could be PHP, JAVA, .Net or any other technology you would like to prefer. You can use open source languages like PHP or Java, if your budget is low. Now with the help of a good programmer you can tart making travel based search engine as per your needs. The GDS takes requests and sends the response in XML format, as it’s relatively fast and easy to use. All the request/response you send/receive from GDS is in XML format. The response we get from the GDS is shown on the website by cutting the tags from the XML. Yes, to make your own search engine you need one good programmer and one web designer. There are few web development companies who build travel based search engines, you can take their help as well. They can provide you travel based search engine as per your requirement at affordable prices.

How to search your Travel Agent/ Travel Portal?

Choosing a travel agent for your travel needs could be a difficult job, especially in the peak seasons. In peak season either the fares are really high or the travel agent is not reliable. Then how to book your flights, hotels or holidays? Now there are few things which are to be kept in mind before booking your travel needs. While searching your travel partner you can use Google, Yahoo, Bing or any other search engine. You can check the offers there and select best offer for you. The work doesn’t ends up here. In fact the work starts from here, as most of the websites are showing Fake Fares, just to attract the traffic. Just search your requirements by using online search engine and compare with two-three websites. If the fare is coming online and you like the fare then no need to worry just book it online but if the fare is little expensive than your budget then there is a way. Just call to the travel agent other than that website where you have checked the online fare. You can get the telephone number anywhere on their website and try to negotiate with them. In 90% cases passenger gets the desired fare, if not just tell your budget to your agent and he will arrange that. I am saying this thing because there are some contracts between Airline and the agents in which Agent CAN NOT show the fare on the website but it’s available. Now this is an important thing. You can even send enquiry through email, if your dates are flexible.
